◎為什麼雞、豬、牛會墮落為畜生？因為牠們以前當人的時候，不懂得做人的規矩，雖然有幸做了人，不幸的是所作所為都是畜生的行為。所以今天我們有機會獲得人身，不但要珍惜努力修行，而且還要學習聖賢、佛菩薩；依著聖賢、佛菩薩的規矩做人，才不會墮落為畜生。【日常師父法語】
Why chickens, pigs, cows descend to animal state of existence? It is because, when they were humans, they did not know what humans should do. Though they were fortunate to live in human forms, unfortunately they still behaved like animals. Therefore, today we have the opportunities to live as humans, we should not only cherish our lives but also be diligent in Buddhist practice. Moreover, we should learn from sages, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas about how to live as humans so that we will not descend to animal state in the future. – Master Jih Chang
