Not that we have no intelligence, we just use it in the wrong way and it becomes worldly talent and eloquence. Our talent is covered by our afflictions, and we come up with seemingly clever ways to escape the past. We try to make ourselves exception to karma, which is on the contrary harmful to us. Using our intelligence in correct ways, we can find our own mistakes and make instant confession and repentance. [廣論穿線] 善知識知悉我的一切
師父能夠寬容習慣跟他完全不一樣的一個弟子,而且能在他的那種習慣上給予他恰當的引導,可是如果我們有一種習慣,看到老師的習慣跟我的不一樣,就多半會觀過。即便你不承許上師是佛,上師對你的心和我們對上師的心是完全不能比的。 -- 真如老師
The Late Master can tolerate a disciple whose habits are totally different from His own and give him appropriate guidance according to the disciple’s habits. However, if we see a habit of the guru that is different from ours, we normally examine his faults. You may not concur that the Guru is really the Buddha. Yet our consideration for the Guru absolutely cannot compare to the Guru’s consideration for us. -- Master Jenru

The Buddha has an epithet -- Perfectly Omniscient, which means “knowing all.” Whatever His mind refers to and whatever exists and is present, he can not only realize it but do so the most correctly, thoroughly and detailedly. With cultivation, we can also achieve such state of mind.

We must learn diligently so as to control our selfish desire, then to be considerate for others, and to go deeper and broader into Buddha’s teaching. Under that circumstance, we have nothing but consideration for others in mind. When we understand Buddha’s teaching, we really realize the mind of Buddhahood is Bodhicitta – consideration for others. – Master Jih Chang
