所謂的修行、所謂的淨化,或是說「欲往從所未經之地」,跟善法跟佛法相應的,一個特徵是什麼?向內觀察、向內調伏,這個也是惡道眾生、甚至是輪迴裡的善趣眾生,最不會做的事情。可是不向內觀察、不向內調伏,不觀察自己的身語意的造業狀態,我們就很難造那種,改善自己生命的業。所以惡業習氣的大概的特徵是這樣,那從這個角度來講的話,憑感受、以感受為主,然後不向內觀察、不向內調伏,是我們很重的習性,這就是「無間從惡趣來」的證明 ——如俊法師《月光共學》

What is the feature of the so-called cultivation or purification, “traveling to a place where we have never been”, or whatever is associated with wholesome phenomena or the Buddha Dharma? The answer is inward observation and discipline. The things are the least likely done by all beings in miserable realms or even the beings transmigrating among three higher realms. However, without inward observation and discipline – namely not observing the karmas created by our own bodies, speeches, and thoughts, we could hardly create the karmas that improve our lives. Thus the general impressions of evil karmas is like this. From this perspective, it is our habitual behavior to judge mainly with sensuous feelings instead of inward observation and discipline.
