In Buddhism, the first thing sangha do in New Year is to "venerate the ancestors"– to venerate Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and the elders.
然後我們在一年當中的第一天的早晨，就憶念、恭敬虔誠地禮拜救拔、教導我們的諸大善知識，這是一個非常好的緣起。
Then in the morning of the first day of the year, we remember and venerate sincerely and respectfully the Gurus who rescue and teach us, which is a very good cause for future.
透過對殊勝福田的祈求和禮敬，我們增長內心中的信心，會得到佛菩薩的加持。
By praying to and venerating the supreme field of merit, we increase the faith in our minds and receive the assistance from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
然後我們憶念著傳承的善知識、憶念著佛陀，不僅僅是在新的一年，乃至生生世世，我們都能夠得到善知識和佛菩薩、師長的攝護——
Then we remember the elders and the Buddha, not just in the coming year, but in countless lives hereafter, hoping for the reception and protection by Gurus, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas.
這應該就是一年之中，最吉祥最吉祥的一個開始
This should be the most auspicious point of departure in the year.
